美国贸易全国委员会上海代表处现需新招一名实习生

The US-China Business Council’s (USCBC) Shanghai office is seeking a Research Intern for an opening in July. Internships at USCBC’s Shanghai office are a rewarding experience designed for Chinese nationals who are enrolled in graduate school or have recently graduated. Exceptional undergraduates in their junior or senior year may also be considered.

Interns at USCBC’s Shanghai office are expected to assume a wide range of responsibilities.

1.Conduct independent research in support of full-time staff on a wide array of business issues
2.Research and write for the USCBC’s biweekly newsletter China Market Intelligence
3.Assist in organizing and running USCBC events, including issues luncheons, ad-hoc roundtables of senior executives, and the annual China Operations Conference
4.Assist full-time staff with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, arranging express delivery, and other duties

Competitive candidates should have the following qualifications and characteristics:

1.Undergraduate degree in a business- or law-related field such as international relations, economics, political science, international business, etc.
2.Excellent English-language writing and research skills, particularly the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise and informative reports and articles
3.Native fluency in speaking and reading Chinese
4.Professional demeanor and bearing
5.Strong interest in business, commercial policy, and US-China political and trade relations
6.Work experience at a multinational company is desirable

USCBC’s Shanghai office hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. USCBC requires interns to commit to working 2- 3 days per week for a period of approximately 6 months. Internships at USCBC’s Shanghai office are uncompensated, except for a small stipend and transportation expenses to and from the office.

Independent Research and Writing Test

Individuals who successfully complete a first round interview for an internship at the US-China Business Council’s office in Shanghai will need to successfully complete a research and writing test. Prospective interns are asked to compose a three to four-paragraph article in English on a relevant business issue. Possible examples might include issues relating to regulations on mergers and acquisitions, IPR litigation in a local court, or an overview of a visit by a prominent US trade official to China.
